This is one such post where I won’t be sharing anything related to health. However, I just checked that there was only 1 health-related post by me this month (that was the best one, so be happy).
Interestingly, this post is also a prompt, so readers’ contribution is needed.
This prompt is 5 things that make me happy. First I will talk about 5 things that make me (FGW) happy, and then in a separate blog post, you will talk about yours.
Things that make me happy-Blogging

Blogging has to be #1 on my list, I mean, this is why I am here anyway. I am happy doing it and I believe I am doing a fantastic job. I have written 145+ blog posts and given endless hours to blogging.
I started blogging in 2021 and since then I have been writing without a major break. Earlier, I used to share 8-9 blog posts per month, but now, I am down to 4-5. People may call it bragging, but I feel I have improved my blog’s quality a lot. I won’t be saying I am on the level of the OGs here, but I am doing well.
I do love blogging, but I love the community here as well. I haven’t experienced anything bad (except maybe twice) and people here are intellectual and passionate. I am following a selected few, as I want to give my proper attention to a certain group of people, rather than an uncontrollable bunch.
Things that make me happy-Workout

I have lost 28 kg, and I believe that would not be possible if I didn’t have a love for what I was/am doing. You need to love the process, and you need to commit yourself to it. I love the workout, and that’s why I was able to go to the gym 6 times a week.
I have continuously experimented and changed my workout and always made sure to make it fun. For example, some people will not prefer walking after a meal, but it’s important, easy, and effective. If you start loving something like that, you can convince yourself for it always.
When you love exercising, you don’t need any motivation to do it.
Things that make me happy reading

I have once talked about my love for book reading here, but never enough. So yeah, I do love reading books. I have seen some people online who have made book reading a competition. They aim to read a certain amount of books in a year, and they see it as a challenge.
But, I see book reading as a healthy, Mindful habit. I don’t count books, I enjoy them. I feel book reading is the best mindful habit you can do. I make sure to give at least 1+ hour to book reading in the morning when there’s absolute silence (around 5:30 am), and 30 minutes before sleeping.
People who are close to me know that I don’t use the phone after 9 p.m., so I made a healthy boundary with it. I like spending time reading books before sleeping.
This mindful habit of mine makes me very happy and improves my mental health.
Things that make me happy-talking to certain someone
5 out of 7 days, I avoid talking to people on the phone. For some reason, I don’t like making friends. Even at the gym, I don’t know the name of a single person there, because I never go there to make friends. I allow very selected few people in my life.
I do mail/text a few people from WP outside WP, but I never expect anything from those friendships. There’s one particular blogger, who has become a part of my life. I can proudly call her my dear sister and whenever we get a chance to talk on call, we talk for hours. In India, calling is free, and that girl have a lot of things to share while having nothing to share. Then there’s my brother from another mother who motivated me to start blogging 2 years ago and supported me in this, I can tolerate him on call as well. So these interactions make me happy.
Things that make me happy-Seeing things happening my way

I am a very simple guy. I don’t have any extravagant needs, I don’t have expensive or typical hobbies. I like simple things and simple life. Small things in life make me happy. Like I follow a certain routine, If I am able to sleep on time and then get up on time, I get happy. If I reach home from the office safely (because for some reason I am invisible on the road), then I get happy.
If I am able to eat my favorite food, which is home-cooked food specifically, then I get happy. So, if there’s any single girl who’s reading my blog, I am giving you a hint, that I how easy it is to make me happy.
Our happiness is in our hands. Sometimes, we run after impossible things, but we often miss little joys that we can experience in life.

So now it’s your turn. I would appreciate your participation, with a separate blog post. You have time till 11th September 2023 to write and share your own version of 5 things that make you happy. There’s no word limit, but consider it like any other blog post.
Until next time, stay happy.

You know, at the end of the day a lot of us find happiness in the little things. They don’t have to be extravagant or expensive. They just have to be meaningful. This post is a great reminder to remember the good things that make us happy and to be grateful for them.
Well yeah!!
There’s happiness in things around us.
Like, I found happiness 2 years ago by reading your posts. I still get excited and ecstatic.
I would love to read your version on 5 things that make you happy, you cannot escape this time.
Yes, I’ll definitely be writing my five in one of my posts this week!
Will wait!!
I’m interested to know what makes you happy, other than whinning 🫣😝
😅😅
as said, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication… and the best way to live too. less stressful always.
a great share, Devang, and as Pooja says… great reminders too.
Thank you 🤍🙏
Thanks for reading and appreciating
always a pleasure 🤍
Happiness is health. What makes your mother or father happy?
How do I know what makes them happy 😅
It’s different for everyone.
I would like to know yours
You might ask them 🙂 Me: writing, reading, teaching, parenting (most days), walking in nature, photography.
That’s great and happy
For sure, the simplest things can make us happy. I like it when I can see the full moon in my window.
How often do you see it?
Once a month or twice, depending on whether we get a clear sky and whether the angle is right (not blocked by a building).
Oh well
Sometimes little joy can be rare
My daily joy is food. 🙂
That’s great
Keep enjoying that
Excellent Blog on things that make you happy.. I came to know something about you.
Yes , I enjoyed this piece.
Thanks for reading and appreciating
What makes you happy?
Mental Health is vitally important, so doing the things that make you happy are priceless!
Well yeah!
Thanks for reading and appreciating
Nice! Not surprisingly, when I saw the title of this blog post, I thought right away, two of your favorite things are blogging and exercising/working out. 🙂
Haha
Now people know me well 😊
What things make you happy?
You are rockin it D👏👍🏽
I guess 🙂
Hi Devang,
I love traveling because
I love coming back home.
I love my weekends free
To come back to work that I love.
I love learning new things
Because the day you stop learning
They throw dirt in your face.
That’s a great list
Thanks for sharing
Hi DU, how have you been? It’s been almost a month that I had to take a break from blogging because I was busy with other things. I thought that I won’t ever get time to blog again coz my eyes were hurting real bad but I fixed my schedule now and take frequent breaks during work.
Your prompt is definitely a reminder that we don’t need lots of things to make us happy. No matter how tech savvy the world has become, things like good food, friendships, taking care of our mental and physical health are some of the basic things that we all need to be happy in life.
Take good care!
Best wishes
And yes
We don’t need anything huge or flashy to be happy.
Little things matters
I’ll beg to disagree, sir, this IS health related! Mental health and focusing on the joys in life is as important as eating healthy and exercising your body and mind. I too enjoy the simple things in life…..reading, writing, kayaking, hiking, family (both human and four-legged)
You could have said all that in a separate blog post
haha
Thanks for adding value to the post
Had to keep it short and sweet, need to get ready for work 🙂
Haha
I was a prompt
Great day, remember to smile

Good points! Neither small nor big, whatever makes one happy is important.
Yes 🙂
Thanks for reading
Yes, we all need to look at how easy it is to be happy through the small and simple things in life. Of course it’s different for all of us but I’m sure that everyone has something. Good post Devang.
