9 years later, HIIT still remains my favorite form of exercise.
I started working out in 2016. Before that, I wasn’t much into physical activity , probably because of a lack of proper guidance.
I mean, back then I thought physical activity only meant sports, running, or gym workouts, and that only “fit people” did such things.
I feel most kids grow up with this notion, and it stays for a long time.
We need to change that and make some form of physical activity a daily and regular part of our lives.
Our goal shouldn’t be what we’ll get from physical activity.
We should simply believe that any form of movement will bless our body and health.
So, about HIIT—
HIIT stands for High-Intensity Interval Training.
It means doing more movements in less time. Anything like jumping, running, or similar fast-paced activities can be considered HIIT.
I like it because it requires speed and performance.
Earlier, I used to do it a lot. Nowadays, not that much because it demands a lot of energy, and some days you just don’t feel like doing much.
The interesting thing about HIIT (or cardio) is that people think it’s great for fat loss, and that’s why they do it a lot.
I also started in 2016 thinking the same.
However, let me say this, HIIT doesn’t mean fat loss.
It just burns more calories. It doesn’t help with muscle growth, so eventually, you’ll need to add resistance or strength training.
Now, why this post?
Usually, I don’t do such prompts because very few of them interest me.
But two reasons I’m writing today:
1️⃣ I like this topic. I’m not giving anything heavy, just writing.
2️⃣ I forgot what I was actually writing earlier 😅. I was working on a blog about backache and sitting, with some keywords and a bit of research, but I forgot where to start or what exactly I was writing.
Hey, this is still good. I feel I need to write more like this, writing without overthinking this and that.
I’ve been writing a lot, just not here.
I’m sorting things, managing time… trying to do better.
WordPress feels stressful lately, every time I log in, there’s some new change, and it takes 10 minutes to figure it out.
So many futile features that make no sense.
You’ll see me here again soon 🙂
