Daily writing prompt
What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?

Welcome to another post about why I am not posting as often as I should.

I find it a struggle to write a decent post these days. I don’t want to put out random stuff, so these prompts are a good excuse.

I will talk about the things I do for good health and well being.

I workout

This is the most important part of my life. It has improved my physical and mental health. I started working out in 2016 but had an on-and-off relationship with it. I started loving it in June 2022.

I’ve lost 28 kg, but that’s not my only goal now. I want to stay able, active, and amazing. Working out makes me feel amazing.

I always suggest people include some form of workout in their routine. If you can’t go to the gym, go trekking. If you can’t go trekking, go swimming. If you can’t swim, run. If you can’t run, ride a bicycle. If you can’t ride a bicycle, walk. Walking is a great exercise.

I feel free when I work out, and for good health, I make sure to exercise regularly.

I eat healthy

By healthy, I mean home-cooked food, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Nothing fancy. I’ve talked about how dangerous ultra-processed foods are and how they can harm you.

I am healthy because I know my food. I know what I’m eating, and I know how much I am eating.

Healthy food for good health

I am a holistic nutritionist and a meal planner (spoiler alert). I can help you too. If you are a regular reader of FGW, I’ll guide you for free. But hey, I’m not promoting my services here.

What I’m trying to say is, we can be healthy if we know our food and understand what to eat and when to eat.

Here are some tips that are approved by nutritionists, including myself.

I read

I read a lot because I have to—it’s part of my process. To produce good content for FGW, you have to absorb ideas from everywhere. I read and work on those things.

But most importantly, I read to keep myself sane. Reading is a way to cut out the noise and find peace.

By the way, my favorite blogger has written a book. I’m happy for her. She’s amazing.

I read before bed and in the morning. There are times when I don’t want to read, and I’ve started doing this other thing instead ->

I listen podcast

This is my new interest: listening to podcasts. They cover topics like health, nutrition, and facts.

I’ve stopped watching Netflix and similar content. I felt it was consuming too much energy. Since I was paying for it, I felt obligated to watch, which created continuous pressure.

I didn’t want to be enslaved by it. Instead, I listen to podcasts now. It’s also a great way to reduce screen time. I’ve noticed I only need to charge my phone every two days now.

I write

I know I haven’t been writing here much lately. I’m frustrated with WordPress’s glitches. You work hard on a post, and WordPress ruins it. Sometimes likes don’t work, or posts don’t appear properly to readers. Other times, there’s some crazy update.

I feel like WordPress Premium is a waste of money. If you’re interested in reading my short posts about health, I’m on LinkedIn . I post there 3-4 times a week.

That’s it for now. I do these things to maintain good health. They’re simple, but I believe everyone needs something to keep them going.

I want to add a few more things, but right now I’m overwhelmed and need to give myself some time.

Also, I apologize for not reading your posts. I’m not ignoring anyone, but I don’t want to read with half interest.

I promise to spam you soon.

I’m already working on a great post and will be back soon.

In the comments tell me what you do for a good health and wellbeing

Smile.

  2. Hey Devang, I admire your positive attitude about exercise. That’s a hard one for me to deliberately do…but I do a lot of housework and walking outdoors. That counts as workout??

It seems like you’re living a very healthy life and that’s great. We should all strive to be as healthy as can be. And thanks so much for mentioning my book, I’m so glad it’s available in India now too. I was afraid it may not be since Amazon doesn’t print in India but thankfully it’s still available there.

This platform has really given you fits, hasn’t it? I’m wondering if a platform like Substack might be a fit for you? I love the community here, but have also started posting there, and so far I’m finding it easy to navigate, and it has some great perks.

  10. Beautiful tips indeed!
