5 Healthy lifestyle changes for mental health


We are Anne-Vasthi and Ludmilla Louissaint, general practitioners from the website Your Health’s Journal. We created this site because we are health lovers, and we want to share our knowledge and experiences on how to improve your health. Our site is dedicated to health lovers who will learn the most relevant details about the evolution of their mental, physical, and social health. We are very happy to collaborate with our co-host Devang Upadhyaya.

When you think of health first, you may focus only on your body. However, your mental health plays a huge role in how you feel about yourself and your life. Instead of letting your mental health decline, use some techniques to feel better and live your dreams.

1- How to Deal with negative situations

A negative situation can be a major obstacle to optimal mental health. Therefore, you need to develop strategies for dealing with situations. One effective method is to tell yourself that you can either find a solution to the situation or learn to adapt to it. Accepting that life will not always go smoothly is important. When you expect life to go smoothly all the time, you are almost certain to find yourself disappointed.

2- Try new experiences

Another reason your mental health may suffer is due to a lack of diversity in experiences. Following the same routine every day can stifle your creativity. While you may enjoy a routine, think about the last time you actually broke from yours. Agreeing to meet friends for dinner on a work night or signing up for a weekend art class can remind you of parts of your personality long left behind.

3- Have a hobby

Human beings spend much of their lives engaging in activities that reward them in some tangible way and have a result that other people can see. Not everything in life needs an external purpose. You can engage in activities simply because they make you happy. Hobbies offer you this level of joy. Whether you enjoy scrapbooking, watching birds in their natural habitats or learning to play new instruments, you should find time to enjoy these activities.

4- Express yourself

At least once in your life, you’ve probably had the experience of struggling to fall asleep because you had so many thoughts in your mind. Keeping repressed emotions in your mind can have negative effects even when you are awake. Find a way to express these emotions. You can confide in a trusted relative or friend about your difficulties, or you may prefer to write.

5- Ask for help

If you are having serious difficulties with your mental health, you need to know that you do not have to struggle alone. Seek help from a trained mental health professional. This may seem scary or overwhelming. However, remember that these people are in the field because they want to help people.

Your mental health is an important part of your life, and you need to take care of it. Using these strategies can help you feel happier and healthier overall and even help you achieve your most difficult goals.

  1. There’s lots of good advice here. I nearly always write when I feel I need to express myself, but, as suggested, it might be a good idea to try something else creative.
